About Me

Hi, and thanks for visiting my site!

My name is Harrison Jeffers. I am a tuba player and educator based in Knoxville, Tennessee, currently a junior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I major in Tuba Performance with a minor in Industrial Design. My primary instruments are contrabass and bass tuba, and I remain active as a performer across a wide range of ensembles. At UT, I perform with the Wind Ensemble, the Volunteer Brass Quintet, and the University of Tennessee Symphony Orchestra. I also spent two years as a member of the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, experiences that continue to shape my approach to musicianship, collaboration, and discipline.

My passion for teaching is rooted in the community I found through music at a young age. I most enjoy working with middle school and high school students, from absolute beginners to advanced players preparing for auditions. My teaching is relationship-based, focused on building connection, confidence, and transferable life skills through music.

Alongside performance and teaching, I have a growing interest in brass instrument repair, inspired by visits to repair technicians and a fascination with the craft and detail behind the instrument. I am currently self-studying and preparing for a future apprenticeship.

Music, for me, is the intersection of discipline, creativity, and a genuine love for people—values I strive to bring into every lesson and performance.
